Death Star Display at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for 2025 Season of the Force

Death Star Arrives at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for Season of the Force

A Death Star display has arrived at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa at the Disneyland Resort for Season of the Force. This display is “impressive… most impressive.” It slowly turns and brings the display to life as X-Wings from the Rebel Alliance hover above before making their trench run. The display this year is in contrast to a Millennium Falcon display that was found in the Great Hall lobby last year.

Here are a few fun facts about what was used to create this year’s display:

  • 160 pounds of crisped rice cereal
  • 150 pounds of fondant
  • 80 pounds of powdered sugar
  • 80 pounds of marshmallows
  • 40 pounds of chocolate
  • 30 pounds of butter
  • 24 pounds of egg whites

The Death Star display was installed on Friday morning, the first day of Season of the Force. Early in the morning, the confection team could be seen bringing this incredible edible (technically?) display to life. Friend of Daps Magic Johnny grabbed these photos and video after they had completed their work. While the photos and video really look impressive, nothing matches seeing this incredible display in person!

Along with this new display, Star Wars music will be played at the piano at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa as well. The following sign went up on Friday morning announcing the music at 4:00 PM and 7:30 PM.
