On this day in 1979, the comedy ‘The North Avenue Irregulars’ was released in theaters. Newly-hired Reverend Hill discovers an illegal gambling ring in his town that is sponsored by organized crime. He makes it his mission to put a stop to it and recruits six church ladies for the task when no one else is willing. While their enthusiasm for the job is unmatched, their skills may not be, leading to hilarity! ‘The North Avenue Irregulars’ was Disney’s 100th live action film.
