This year, the most delicious festival in Southern California is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The Knott’s Boysenberry Festival has been bringing people together for a decade with its delicious foods and experiences, all based on the Boysenberry. The festival begins on March 28th and will continue daily through April 27th.
For the 10th anniversary of Knott’s Boysenberry Festival, there will be over 80 savory and sweet boysenberry menu items to be explored and tried. There will also be a new line-up of shows, live music, 10th-anniversary merchandise, and a wide selection of local crafters and artisans.
A Culinary Celebration of the Boysenberry
The Knott’s Boysenberry Festival will have over 80 signature menu offerings as it celebrates a delicious decade of celebrating the boysenberry. Some of the new savory items include:
- “The Stack” boysenberry BBQ pulled pork over boysenberry cornbread and coleslaw
- French toast stuffed with boysenberry cream cheese
- Thai crunch peanut salad with boysenberry peanut dressing
New sweet boysenberry treats include:
- Boysenberry cheesecake crisp pie
- Vegan white chocolate and boysenberry tart
- Boysenberry ice cream sandwich
There are also some favorite dishes that are returning:
- Boysenberry elote
- Boysenberry honey garlic chicken wings
- Boysenberry sausage on a hoagie
All of these delicious dishes can be enjoyed with one of the following drinks:
- Boysenberry Snagria
- Boysenberry and lavender lemonade
- Boysenberry tequila smash
- Boysenberry beer
There are many other food and beverage offerings to be found and enjoyed at Knott’s Berry Farm during this festival. One great way to do this is by purchasing a tasting card. Priced at $55, these tasting cards offer six tastings of boysenberry-inspired dishes and drinks. The tasting cards can be purchased at Knotts.com or at Knott’s Berry Farm itself. Season Passholders can also get a discount on their tasting cards by purchasing online before March 30th. Passholders who do this will be able to get tasting cards for $45, a $10 discount.
Knott’s Boysenberry Festival Entertainment
Calico Park and Calico Mine Stage
There will be plenty of entertainment to be enjoyed at Knott’s Boysenberry Festival, including the fan-favorite pie eating contest. This year there will be more boysenberry fun than ever! Over at Calico Park, the new Boysen Bear’s Pie Kitchen Games will see guests invited to help thwart the sneaky coyote pups, Moxie and Brawney, from stealing all the pies! Once the day has been saved, the celebration will take place on the Calico Mine Stage at the Boysen Bear’s Pie Eating Contest.
Knott’s Preserved will also be returning to the Calico Mine Stage. This musical celebrates the history of Knott’s Berry Farm from its origins as a little ghost town of Calico to something much bigger and even more beloved today.
Birdcage Theater
The Birdcage Theater will be hosting an all-new melodrama on its legendary stage. The Great Bank Robbery will give guests chances to cheer on the hero and boo/hiss for the villain.
Other Experiences
Throughout the park, there will be some other fun experiences to be found. Old MacDonald’s Barn will delight guests as they get to experience this tribute to one of the farm’s original attractions. Guests will get to be up close with horses, goats, and other furry friends when they stop by the barn. This is always a popular place to stop by to see these cute critters.
Over in Town Hall, the History of the Boysenberry Museum will be found. There, guests will learn about the history of the boysenberry and how it impacted the Knott family and also Southern California.
The Boysenberry Festival Crafts Fair will be found on the streets of Ghost Town. While walking the streets, guests will find a plethora of creative boysenberry-inspired artisan products. There will be over two dozen local craft vendors on hand for the crafts fair this year.
At The Factory Store, Tied Up in Knott’s art show returns with pieces of art that are created by the Knott’s community of artists. This is always a wonderful place to stop by and check out the artwork. For those who can’t afford an original piece of art, there are often prints and postcards available as well!
