Here is Splash Mountain, in all its heart-stopping glory. The most elaborate log flume attraction ever created, this Disneyland original was noted for endless delays in getting it up and running. But guests agreed, it was worth the wait. The lavish opening ceremony was timed to coincide with Disneyland’s July 17, 1989 birthday.
