Disney California Adventure Main Entrance

Work Continues on Disney California Adventure Main Entrance Gates

Just days after new walls went up at the main entrance to Disneyland, more walls appeared around a section of the main entrance to Disney California Adventure. The walls block off the second main block of entrance gates to the second park at the Disneyland Resort. The entrance gates are being upgraded at the entrance to both parks. This will modernize the entrance process and create a more efficient and pleasant experience for guests visiting the Disneyland Resort parks.

On Friday as the Daps Magic team was arriving at the park to check out Lunar New Year at Disneyland Resort 2025, the walls could be seen. The turnstiles already have been upgraded to the west of the current project at the Disney California Adventure entrance and also across the Esplanade at Disneyland. They also appeared on a much smaller scale earlier this year at Disney California Adventure as a lead-up to the upgrade. At the time, Kevin Gidden, General Manager Arrival Experience said, “We continue to invest in the overall guest experience, and our updated, enhanced entry gates will really elevate the process of arriving at our theme parks. The test entry gate installed at Disney California Adventure Park will enable our teams to get hands-on experience that will help inform the final install beginning later this year.”

Below are a look at the walls and the signage that is on them while the construction is happening to upgrade these main entrance gates.

The new entrances are all ADA-compliant and allow for ECVs, wheelchairs, and strollers to enter with other guests. This eliminates the need for an extra line down the middle for wheeled vehicles which slows the process in the older entry gate process. The new gates are being added to the main entrances of both theme parks, the hotels, and the Downtown Disney District Monorail station entrance.

The process for the new entrance gates is simply having either a ticket/Magic Key/MagicBand+ scanned and then proceeding through an open gate. There is no turnstile to get stuck in. The gateway is wide enough for strollers, wheelchairs, and ECVs to navigate through easily. They also create a more friendly welcoming experience that is simpler, quicker, and lighter.
