On this day in 1974, John Lennon signed the paperwork that officially broke up The Beatles while on a trip to Walt Disney World. The signing was supposed to take place on December 19 at the Plaza Hotel in New York, but John did not come. Ten days later, he was the last to sign while at the Polynesian Village Hotel. Some say John was in room 1601 of the Samoa longhouse, overlooking the Seven Seas Lagoon with Cinderella Castle in the distance. [50 years ago in 2024]
