Orlando International Airport (MCO) suspended commercial flights on Wednesday ahead of the arrival of Hurricane Milton. Now after the storm passed through Florida overnight, MCO has announced that it will be resuming commercial flights on Friday, October 11, 2024. There will be some arriving flights tonight, however, travelers are instructed to not attempt to go to the airport until Friday for a departing flight.
The airport made the announcement on social media with the following post:
Although we will receive a few domestic arrivals this evening, no departures or international flights will occur. Departing flights will begin tomorrow, Friday, October 11. Please don’t come to the airport for a departing flight tonight. Feel free to pick up arriving passengers, if needed. Airlines will continue to adjust their schedules to better accommodate passengers, so please verify your flight status directly with them. We hope you and your loved ones stayed safe throughout the storm, and we sincerely appreciate your patience during this time.
For those who are attempting to depart from MCO and have already had their travel impacted by Hurricane Milton, reach out to the airlines for assistance. It is also wise to check on the flight status of your flight before heading to MCO.
