On this day in 1984, Michael Eisner was elected CEO and Chairman of Walt Disney Productions, replacing Ron W. Miller and Ray Watson. Frank Wells joined him as President and Chief of Operations. These new appointments proved to be wise, as Walt Disney Productions went from being about $900 million in debt in 1984 to being worth $340 million just three years later! [40 years ago in 2024]
