On this day in 1989, Pixar director and animator Domee Shi was born. Her career with Pixar began in 2011. She is best known for directing the Oscar-winning short, ‘Bao’ and the full-length film, ‘Turning Red.’ Shi was the first woman to direct a short film at Pixar with ‘Bao.’ In her time at the studio, she has contributed to ‘Inside Out,’ ‘The Good Dinosaur,’ ‘Incredibles 2,’ and ‘Toy Story 4,’ Shi is currently working on ‘Elio,’ which will be released in 2025.
