On this day in 2014, the Marketplace Boat Dock and Saratoga Bridge opened officially at Downtown Disney in Orlando, Florida. The new structures were part of the area’s conversion into Disney Springs, a project that continued for one more year. The new bridge provided an easy walking path to and from Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. The boat dock hosted complimentary water taxis to the West Side and Pleasure Island, renamed The Landing.
