Fire of the Rising Moons Fireworks Star Wars Day 2024

Fireworks and Lightsabers Light up Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on May the 4th

May the 4th was an excellent day to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland. Throughout the day, and into the evening, there was plenty of fun to be had for travelers visiting Batuu. There was merchandise to be bought, foods to enjoy, lightsaber meetups, photos to be taken, characters to meet, droids to watch, and of course fireworks to see!

The new Fire of the Rising Moons were introduced as a part of the Season of the Force at the Disneyland Resort. This is a new way to enjoy fireworks for guests in the land. The fireworks that are already being shown in the skies above the parks now have the iconic music of John Williams. For May the 4th, or Star Wars Day, the Force was even stronger. Dozens of lightsabers could be seen glowing throughout the land. This was particularly true around the Millennium Falcon. After a couple of lightsaber meetups, the area around the Millennium Falcon seemed to be a very popular place to gather for fireworks. Most of the area was packed well before the fireworks began. The excitement was palpable as people waited for the music and fireworks to begin.

Finally, shortly after 9:30 PM, the show began and the crowd cheered. As the strains of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Symphonic Suite filled the air, it was a wonderful place for a Star Wars fan to be. Over the next nearly 15 minutes, favorite themes from all three trilogies that make up the Skywalker Saga were played. Fireworks erupted above and lightsabers lit up the area below. As the show concluded, the crowd cheered. Many waited around for photos, others swarmed to stores and attractions, or to make their way home. Several of the Daps Magic team were on hand to film this special presentation of fireworks.
