Dining Experience
First and foremost, character dining is about the food! You are there to eat a meal in a fun environment, so the food must be delicious, well-portioned, and filling! We were incredibly pleased with all the food offerings available to us. I always say that while Mr. Daps is an adventurous eater, ready to try new food, I am one of the safest eaters on the planet. We both were able to find dishes we enjoyed while feeling like we got our money’s worth! To make one (incredibly!!) minor complaint, it would be that the restaurant did not carry Diet Coke but Coke Zero instead (see, I told you it was minor.) I prefer Diet Coke and was disappointed I couldn’t order it!
Here is the dinner menu, pulled from the Disneyland dining website!

As you can see, it is a very diverse menu with something for everyone. Whether you wanted a nicer meal with salmon, prime rib, and mashed potatoes or chicken tenders with french fries and ketchup, you had the choice! I went with a nice mix of both, because, why not?!
Characters
One of the biggest reasons to head out to this Springtime Buffet is to see some of your favorite characters in their Spring best! We saw Minnie Mouse in an outfit inspired by butterflies, Chip, inspired by a bumblebee, Dale, inspired by a caterpillar, and Goofy and Clarabelle in their springtime, pastel best.
There was a show moment in the restaurant that we were able to see three times while we dined. The characters dance through the restaurant while waving and blowing kisses before briefly leaving the restaurant. When they returned, they walked to each table and gave groups a chance for special pictures or brief conversations.
These interactions completely blew me away throughout the night! Whether the characters were with us or with nearby guests at another table, we found ourselves completely enamored with how much fun everyone was having. If you have the opportunity to meet these characters, do not wait!
Overall
Overall, I would happily recommend this experience to any Disney fan, whether local or traveling. Though the initial price can be a shock, when you consider the amount of dinner, drinks, and dessert you can eat, it is of good value! You can return with a clean plate for seconds, thirds, and even fourths as long as you have room in your stomach! The value of food, plus the quality of the character dining moments made this evening one I will not forget soon.
