On this day in 1989, the animated series ‘Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers’ premiered on the Disney Channel. It followed detective chipmunks Chip and Dale, modeled after Indiana Jones and Magnum P.I., respectively. They solved crimes “too small” for the police to handle.
