Hatbox Ghost to Materialize at Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom in November

Many announcements were made this weekend at Destination D23. From reimagined attractions and lands, to new lounges, entertainment, and even a new meet-and-greet with Figment, there are lots of things to be excited about! One announcement added more information to a previously made announcement. This news revolved around the Haunted Mansion and the arrival of the Hatbox Ghost.

While it was previously already announced that the Hatbox Ghost would be coming to the Magic Kingdom, it wasn’t known exactly when it would be arriving. During the  “A Celebration of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” panel, hosted by Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro, it was announced that the Hatbox Ghost would be materializing in November. The Hatbox Ghost will be found as guests pass by the Endless Hallway. He will be welcoming himself inside from the swinging wake in the cemetery and grinning at guests on their Doom Buggies as they head deeper into the continuation of the tour. Concept art showing the Hatbox Ghost in its new location will be was shown during the panel.

The Hatbox Ghost originally appeared in Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion for a very short time before disappearing. In 2015, he made his return to the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. Recently, Jared Leto portrayed the Hatbox Ghost in the Haunted Mansion movie. Through the years, whether in the Haunted Mansion or not, the character has been popular with Disney fans. Upon arriving in Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion, he became a fan-favorite ghost.

An exact date in November was not announced for the arrival of the Hatbox Ghost in Magic Kingdom’s Haunted Mansion.
