Toes Get Tapping as the 1st Division Marine Band Helps Disney California Adventure Celebrate Independence Day

Guests visiting the Disneyland Resort on July 3rd got the privilege of seeing and hearing the 1st Marine Division Band perform at Disney California Adventure on July 3rd.

The band, based in Camp Pendleton, brought several styles and genres of music to The Happiest Place on Earth. Throughout the weekend, the band in its different iterations could be heard playing traditional marching band music, some memorable soundtrack themes, Stevie Wonder, and a whole lot more! The Daps Magic team stopped by on both days to capture these magical musical moments from the 1st Marine Division Band in its different iterations. This included the 1st Marine Division Ceremonial Band and The Old Breed Brass Band.

Avengers Campus

The 1st Marine Division Ceremonial Band could be heard first in Avengers Campus. The band played from the deck on the Avengers building. They were joined by Captain America and Captain Marvel for this very patriotic set. This continued a trend in recent years of the Marine band performing in this heroic land. Despite the heat, fans were thrilled by their performance.

Paradise Gardens Park

The band then returned at 4:00 to perform once again in Paradise Gardens Park in front of Paradise Bay. This performance included some classic marches and also some other hits like the theme to The Mandalorian.

On the evening of the 3rd, The Old Breed Brass Band, made up of members of the 1st Marine Division Ceremonial Band, performed at the Paradise Garden Bandstand at both 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM. This energetic group brought the entire area to life and was a hit with those who were watching and cheering the band along.

The performances of the different iterations of the 1st Marine Division Ceremonial Band added to the festive spirit of the Disneyland Resort’s Independence Day celebrations. Along with the 1st Marine Division Ceremonial Band, the 562nd Air Force Band could be found performing throughout the Disneyland Resort as well in different iterations including two concert band sets at Disney California Adventure, a march down the parade route of Disneyland, and also two quintet performances in Downtown Disney District.
