Queenie and the Jambalaya Jazz Band to Set Sail on River Barge to Make Evenings Even More Magical on the Rivers of America

The Jambalaya Jazz is returning to the Rivers of America and will be joined by Queenie as they provide magical entertainment in the evenings at Disneyland. The group will be performing nightly on a barge for guests along the Rivers of America starting on Friday, July 21, 2023. As they float on a specially themed to New Orleans barge, they will perform both some favorite jazz classics along with Disney songs as well.

Performances of the Jambalaya Jazz and Queenie are scheduled to begin nightly at 7:35 PM. There will be three performances each night. Check the Disneyland App or Entertainment Guide for specific performance times. Following their performances, guests can stick around to watch Wondrous Journeys (through August 31) or Halloween Screams (through October 31). The projections along the Rivers of America for both of these shows are fantastic. On the select nights when fireworks are utilized, the reflection on the Rivers of America adds even more magic to the viewing experience.

The performances of Queenie and the Jambalaya Jazz Band promise to add extra magic to this area of the park in the evenings that will be capped off by the beautiful kiss goodnight of Wondrous Journeys and then Halloween Screams. There are few things more magical than relaxing along the banks of the Rivers of America and enjoying a beverage (perhaps Mint Julep?) and a treat (obviously beignets) while experiencing the beautiful sounds of live jazz being performed on the Rivers of America. These are the types of magical moments that really only can be found at Disneyland.

Daps Tip: Stop by the Royal Street Veranda (mobile order first to get an arrival/pickup window that aligns with one of their sets) to pick up beignets and a mint julep and then head down to the edge of the Rivers of America to watch Queenie and the Jambalaya Jazz Band for a lovely evening at Disneyland.

Looking Forward – New Orleans Square Entertainment

The arrival of Queenie and the Jambalaya Jazz Band on their barge for nighttime entertainment is just the first entertainment offering that is coming to New Orleans Square. There will be details about this released in the near future and Daps Magic will be sure to share all of the details.

At this time, there are no additional details to be shared about the return of Fantasmic! However, Daps Magic is in contact with Disneyland representatives and will share the details about this nighttime spectacular’s return the moment those details become available.

Looking Back – Jambalaya Jazz & Queenie

Jambalaya Jazz and Queenie have performed around the Rivers of America and New Orleans Square before. Sometimes the performances have been together and other times separately. In 2016, Jambalaya Jazz performed in the evenings on a raft on the Rivers of America. Daps Magic captured a video of one of these performances that can be seen here:

The Jambalaya Jazz also performed in some special shows like the New Orleans Bayou Bash in 2012. Before that, for Family Fun Weekends in 2011, they were central to the Jambalaya Jazz Cavalcade with Mickey & Minnie for Mardi Gras.

Queenie has also performed with Jambalaya Jazz and other groups around the Rivers of America and New Orleans Square throughout the years. She has appeared on stages, balconies, and even on the front of the Mark Twain throughout the years and is a beloved fan favorite. She has also been a part of multiple different celebrations at the Disneyland Resort, including Mardi Gras. During the kickoff media event for Disneyland’s 60th anniversary celebration, Queenie performed with the Jambalaya Jazz on the front deck of the Mark Twain.

Live entertainment is always a highlight for guests visiting the Disneyland Resort. This is a legacy that goes back to the earliest days of Disneyland. Be sure to stop by in the evening to catch Jambalaya Jazz and Queenie during one of their performances. Then head back to Daps Magic and share about your experience and any tips you might have for those who wish to follow in your footsteps!
