Today at Apple’s WWDC 2023 keynote, Bob Iger made an appearance and announced a collaboration between The Walt Disney Company and Apple for Apple Vision Pro. Bob Iger announced that when Apple Vision Pro is released, Disney+ will be offered with it on day one.
The announcement was not overly long and had Bob Iger talking about how Apple Vision Pro is a revolutionary new platform that can make Disney’s vision a reality. “We’re constantly in search of new ways to entertain, inform and inspire,” Iger said. During the sizzle reel, various shots of an augmented reality experience of Disney+ and other properties from The Walt Disney Company were shown including sports, Star Wars, and even Mickey Mouse walking around a room. It was very reminiscent of the system Iron Man utilized.
The Apple Vision Pro is an augmented reality headset. Apple says that it will seamlessly blend the real and digital worlds. “It’s the first Apple product you look through, and not at,” CEO Tim Cook shared while presenting the new product. The Apple Vision Pro features a separate battery pack and is controlled with the user’s eyes, hands, and voice.
The Apple Vision Pro is primarily an augmented reality device but can switch to full virtual reality using a dial. It is controller-free and rows of apps can be browsed through by looking at them. Users can also tap to select and flick and scroll. On top of that, the device can be controlled via voice commands.
Apple has said that the Apple Vision Pro will be arriving in early 2024 and be $3,499. Daps Magic will add details to this article as they become available.
