There will be new adventures coming to Star Tours: The Adventures Continue at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and Disneyland Paris. There will also be new Star Wars characters coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The announcements came during a panel at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023.
The new adventures for Star Tours that will arrive in 2024 will be taking guests to places they have never been before. In fact, they will be taking guests to places they haven’t heard of before. Scott Trowbridge, when sharing the announcement, said that there will be new destinations from stories that haven’t been told yet. This could be a nod toward some of the upcoming Star Wars series appearing in this attraction. In the not-so-distant future there will be Ahsoka, The Acolyte, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, Andor in the live-action realm but there are also other stories coming as well. Trowbridge said that the new adventures will be coming from things referenced during Star Wars Celebration but also said they need to be revealed on screen first.
The updating of Star Tours: The Adventures Continue is the continuation of the initial dream for the attraction that dates back to its origins. At a panel at the Star Wars Celebration last year in Anaheim, it was shared that new adventures were always part of the idea of Star Tours. While this wasn’t practical in the initial iteration of the attraction that opened in 1987, when it was updated in 2010, there was a whole new galaxy of possibilities. This has been given Imagineers the ability to create updates to the attraction multiple times since Star Tours became Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.
The new characters that are coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge were just teased without any names revealed. Once again, though, with the upcoming series coming from Star Wars to Disney+ there are plenty of possibilities.
