Bob Iger Emails D23 Members With Early Look at Super Bowl Commercial

This morning, on the day of Super Bowl LVII, Disney CEO sent an email to D23 with an early look at the Super Bowl commercial that will be airing tonight during the big game. In the email, Iger says, “For 100 years, Disney has provided joy and wonder for the whole world to enjoy. We’re honored to have created the moments that make your heart sing, your mind soar, your eyes teary, your stomach drop, and your imagination come alive, as you’ve embarked on so many incredible journeys with our stories and characters throughout your lives. You in particular, our most loyal and ardent fans, truly understand what it is to experience the magic of Disney.”

The commercial is a heartwarming look at the childlike wonder that the magic of Disney storytelling brings. It includes moments of children and children at heart experiencing magical moments (not necessarily in the parks) and also so many beautiful and iconic moments from across the many different stories that can be found in The Walt Disney Company. It ends with the castle and a very beautiful moment of When You Wish Upon a Star. This is a commercial that pulls at the heartstrings of all of those who love so many different stories that have been told by Disney through the years, from animated classics to a galaxy far, far away. He continues on sharing how there will be more things coming during the Disney100 celebration that will give Disney the opportunity to thank fans. He also says he wants to honor the people who make the magic. The email wraps up with Iger quoting Walt Disney who once said, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.” Iger added to this his own saying “That’s how I feel about this great company he started a century ago. We have a lot more magic to create, and I can’t wait to share it with the world.”

This is not the first email that has been sent out by Iger since returning in 2022 as Disney CEO. On Thanksgiving last year, Iger sent another email that also expressed gratitude to the fans. His return has been met with enthusiasm by the fans, who feel recognized and appreciated by Iger. In December while visiting Disneyland, Iger and Josh D’Amaro, the Chairman of Parks, Experiences and Products, were treated like heroes when Bob Iger returned to the parks for the first time.

Dear D23 Members –

A century after Walt and Roy Disney first opened for business in 1923, their remarkable legacy lives on in ways they never could have imagined.

Later tonight, we’ll premiere a very special commercial during the Super Bowl honoring 100 years of unrivaled storytelling and innovation, and I wanted to personally share it with all of you first.

For 100 years, Disney has provided joy and wonder for the whole world to enjoy. We’re honored to have created the moments that make your heart sing, your mind soar, your eyes teary, your stomach drop, and your imagination come alive, as you’ve embarked on so many incredible journeys with our stories and characters throughout your lives. You in particular, our most loyal and ardent fans, truly understand what it is to experience the magic of Disney.

Over the coming year, our Disney100 celebrations will give us the chance to say thank you to generations of fans, and to honor the brilliant storytellers whose talents and imagination created the exceptional achievements that make Disney such an enduring part of the global culture. We’ll have numerous opportunities for fans and families of all ages to relive their most beloved Disney memories and to delight in new content and experiences.

Walt once said, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.” That’s how I feel about this great company he started a century ago. We have a lot more magic to create, and I can’t wait to share it with the world.

So, as we commemorate our historic anniversary, I want to thank you for helping us carry forth the legacy that Walt inspired all those years ago. I hope you like this wonderful video, and we look forward to sharing more exciting Disney100 updates with you soon.

With gratitude,
Bob Iger
