On Thanksgiving Day, Disney CEO Bob Iger Gives Gratitude for Employees and Cast Members

On Thanksgiving morning, new (and old) CEO Bob Iger shared his gratitude on Twitter for the employees and cast members of The Walt Disney Company. The continues a week of Bob Iger intentionally sharing his gratitude for those that work at The Walt Disney Company. This started with his initial email that went out to staff when he announced his return. It continued with another email announcing a Town Hall on Monday.

In the tweet Iger said, “Giving thanks today to family, friends, and all of my new fellow employees and cast members @WaltDisneyCo. It was always a privilege to work with all of you, and it certainly is a privilege to do it again! Happy Thanksgiving.”

The return of Bob Iger to The Walt Disney Company comes after he retired nearly a year ago. This came after a long career with the company that started at ABC in 1974 and led to him eventually becoming CEO in 2005. This is a role he would hold for 15 years. In 2020, he passed the CEO torch to Bob Chapek and became Executive Chairman until his retirement. The contract for Iger’s return is set for 2 years. During this time he has a mandate to set a strategic direction for the company and also find his successor.
