“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” Director Ryan Coogler Releases Letter of Gratitude to Fans

The director of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ryan Coogler, has written and released a letter to the fans of the film. The letter, which came out the day before Thanksgiving, was a thank you to all the fans who have seen the film in theaters. “Gratitude. That is the only word that comes to mind for your support of our work on the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. I am filled with it.”

Through the course of the letter, Coogler thanks people for showing up, for watching the whole thing, for talking about it, and “to make people both physically and emotionally feel seen.” The letter concludes with the director saying that “the medium wouldn’t exist without an audience” and proceeding to thank the audience for giving him a professional purpose along with a creative outlet.

The letter was released by Marvel on social media with the caption simply saying “A message from Ryan Coogler” accompanying it. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arrived in theaters on November 11, 2022. On the same day, Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure began a celebration of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever that will continue through January 8, 2023.
