Knott’s Berry Farm has once again updated its chaperone policy. The new policy comes as Knott dials in on a balance of what works and is reasonable while keeping safety a priority. In a post on social media today, Knott’s shared that the updated policy will allow 5 guests under 18 years old with a chaperone over 21 years of age.
The updated policy is in effect on weekends, holiday times, and during Knott’s Scary Farm events. The new policy goes into effect on September 29, 2022.
Knott’s Berry Farm continues to work on creating a fun, safe, and family-friendly experience for guests who visit the park. The recent policy changes have led to a change in the demographics of the park. This could be seen during a recent Knott’s Scary Farm night. Guests were more evenly balanced in regard to age and groupings. There weren’t the large groups of teens swarming around the park through the night. Specifically for Knott’s Scary Farm events, Knott’s has also announced that chaperones with a valid idea that are accompanying 5 paying under-aged guests will get free access to the event.
Here is the complete updated chaperone policy for Knott’s Berry Farm:
Knott’s Berry Farm Chaperone Policy
For decades, Knott’s Berry Farm has been a place where families and friends come together to enjoy our one-of-a-kind park. Millions of guests have counted on us for their daily dose of wholesome family fun, and we’re committed to keeping that promise going forward.
As part of this commitment, we have added additional security protocols and operational policies. A Chaperone Policy is in effect on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at Knott’s Berry Farm. This policy will also apply to all event nights of Knott’s Scary Farm.
In addition, this policy will be implemented during holiday time periods.
Under the chaperone policy, all general park guests ages 17 years old or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old to be admitted to the park. The chaperone must present a valid photo ID with date of birth. One chaperone may accompany no more than five guests ages 17 or younger per day. If you purchased tickets through our Group Sales department, please contact your Group Sales representative for more information. Chaperones must accompany their party during entry, remain inside the park during their visit, and be available by phone throughout their stay. Guests ages 17 years old or younger who are found inside the park unaccompanied by a chaperone will be subject to ejection.
For Knott’s Scary Farm ONLY: Effective September 29, 2022, any chaperone who accompanies a total of five minors, all with valid paid admission for that evening’s event, will be given one (1) complimentary chaperone admission to use for that event night only. Limit one (1) complimentary chaperone ticket per five minors.
This policy is in effect until further notice and subject to change.
