The Spot is the Villain of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Sony has teased the villain for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The film will be released next year, but we’ve already seen Spider-Man 2099 set to be featured, and now the villainous Spot has been revealed. Jason Schwartzman is set to voice the character.

The Spot might seem like an odd villain to have for the film, but could fit very well. In the comics, his powers are being able to create holes, which are basically black spots, and transport himself through to an entirely other place. With the Spider-Verse being about traveling across universes via portals, it could mean he found a way to travel across dimensions. And having someone that can essentially teleport himself or someone else with a thought is a bit foreboding.
