Kevin Feige Confirms Disney and Sony Actively Working on Where Spider-Man Story Goes Next

Spider-Man: No Way Home has just been in theaters for a few days and already Disney and Sony are working on where Peter Parker’s story will be going next. In an interview with the New York Times, Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige confirmed that work has already begun on what is next for Spider-Man.

“Amy and I and Disney and Sony are talking about — yes, we’re actively beginning to develop where the story heads next,” said Feige, “which I only say outright because I don’t want fans to go through any separation trauma like what happened after ‘Far From Home.’ That will not be occurring this time.”

Feige was referencing the amount of time after Spider-Man: Far From Home when negotiations between Disney and Sony broke down and the future of Spider-Man was uncertain.

Producer Amy Pascal confirmed that there is more of the story to be told and explored. “At the end of the movie we just made, you see Spider-Man make a momentous decision, one that you’ve never seen him make before,” she notes. “It’s a sacrifice. And that gives us a lot to work with for the next film.”

Tom Holland began his run of Spider-Man movies in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. He has starred in three of the Spider-Man movies since then. He has also appeared in several other Marvel Cinematic Universe films as well. In the Spider-Man films he has starred alongside Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, and others. Those movies were directed by Jon Watts. It is unknown who will be in future Spider-Man films or if Watts will return to direct. A timeline for release is currently unknown as well.

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker finds himself no longer having a secret identity after it was revealed at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home. To fix this, he asks Doctor Strange to cast a spell… and then things get interesting. This film was released on December 17, 2021 and has had a very strong opening weekend at the box office.
