On November 11, 2021 the first Disney Merriest Nites party was held at Disneyland as a part of the Holidays at Disneyland celebration. The ticketed event was comprised of six different areas or parties. Each party had a unique theme. Main Street, USA’s area was themed to the Victorian era. On Main Street, USA throughout the event Mickey and Minnie could be found in new Victorian era-inspired costumes. Scrooge McDuck and Goofy could be seen as they were in Mickey’s Christmas Carol. Carolers could be heard singing with handbells at Main Street Station. Projections of snow could be seen on the storefronts of Main Street. However, what really brightened the night up was The Muppets!
The Muppets Christmas Caroling Coach had Kermit the Frog joined by Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Pepe the Prawn, Sam Eagle, and even some chickens for some Christmas caroling! The coach would make its way from Town Square, go up Main Street, around the Hub, and then stop at the top of Main Street for a performance that felt very much like a mini version of The Muppet Show on a bus. As always happens, something went wrong and Kermit the Frog finds himself scrambling to try and figure out a solution. Thankfully this was done with the help of Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant Beaker… for better or worse. Finally, things somehow come together and the coach makes its way around the Hub again before rolling back down Main Street. It should also be noted, there was a fun audio announcement with Miss Piggy and Bill Rogers, the voice of Disneyland as well. The full performance can be seen below:
The Muppets Christmas Caroling Coach – Disney Merriest Nites
The Muppets Christmas Caroling Coach was easily one of the highlights of Disney Merriest Nites. For each show, people crowded at the top of Main Street in the Hub to get a glimpse of Kermit and the gang. The humor for the show was quite amusing. The music was charming. Overall, this felt like something so natural and organic to The Muppets and was an absolutely wonderful show to see… more than once. One can only hope that this is the first many more appearances of The Muppets in the parks that are of this caliber and nature. It certainly would be more than welcome. Judging by the crowd reaction to this show, the DAPS MAGIC team isn’t the only ones who would think so.
The Muppets Christmas Caroling Coach was easily a highlight of Disney Merriest Nites. For many, it made it completely worth the price of admission. What did you think of The Muppets Christmas Caroling Coach? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
