On Friday, November 12, 2021, Phat Cat Swinger returned to the Disneyland Resort to open Disney Festival of Holidays. To say it was magical would be an understatement. Ahead of the band’s first set at 8:00 PM, guests were already waiting and anticipating the band’s return. There was a palpable energy that was a beautiful thing after the events of the last year and a half.
Shortly before 8:00, the band performed a quick rendition of I Wanna Be Like You from The Jungle Book for their soundcheck. The band brought their A-Game and those watching were ready for it as Mark Kopitzke sang with the band.
Shortly after the soundcheck, it was time for the first of the two unique sets. Both sets were about a half-hour long and featured every member of the band throughout the night. Because it was the first show of the season, there were two lead singers in the show. This was Mark Kopitzke and also Douglas Rogiers. Marco Palos also sang You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch as well. This one is always a highlight! With about an hour in total of music between the two sets, there is a lot of incredible songs to be heard and enjoyed!
Through the course of their two sets, Phat Cat Swinger brought magic to Disney California Adventure. The music was fantastic, upbeat, festive, and fun. The performances were rock solid. The set choices were a wonderful collection of holiday favorites. The experience for everyone in attendance was absolutely fantastic.
Seeing Phat Cat Swinger perform at Disney Festival of Holidays is one of the most magical things to see during Holidays at Disneyland. The band will be playing Wednesdays through Saturdays throughout Disney Festival of Holidays. Currently, their set times are 8:00 PM and 9:15 PM on each of these nights.
