Marvel Studios’ newest film Eternals brought in $161.7 Million globally on its opening weekend this last weekend. Domestically at the box office, it earned $71.0 million. This weekend’s opening means that Marvel Studios has had three of the four most successful box office openings since the pandemic. This includes Black Widow, Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings, and also Eternals.
Eternals earned $90.7 million internationally for its opening weekend. This was the highest opening for the pandemic era for Italy, Brazil, and Hong Kong. It was the second-highest opening weekend during the same time for Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Sweden, Argentina, Central America, Columbia, Chile, Peru, Paraguay, and Uraguay. For Korea, it was the highest opening for a non-local film during the pandemic era.
In Eternals, the story is told of a group of Super Heroes from space who have protected Earth since the beginning of man. However, when a group of creatures called the Deviants return, the Eternals are forced to again come together to save humanity once again. Eternals stars Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, and Angelina Jolie.
