Fantasmic! and World of Color are officially returning to the Disneyland Resort. Neither has seen performances since before the Disneyland Resort closed in early 2020 due to the pandemic. Now, in 2022 both nighttime spectaculars will be returning it was announced at Destination D23.
Since the reopening of the parks earlier this year, entertainment has been gradually returning. Mickey’s Mix Magic brought the return of fireworks to the skies above Disneyland in July. The arrival of A Christmas Fantasy Parade on November 12 marked the first daily operating parade to be back at the Disneyland Resort that was available to guests (Oogie Boogie Bash offered a parade). With the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade, the absence of Fantastmic! and World of Color was even more noticeable.
Recently, guests visiting the Disneyland Resort could see work being done on the Fantasmic! fountains in Rivers of America. The Columbia has also been in dry dock at Fowler’s Harbour getting some work done. Currently, the entire Paradise Bay is drained as work is being done ahead of World of Color’s return.
Specific dates for the reopening of the two nighttime spectaculars were not announced at Destination D23. DAPS MAGIC will continue to follow this story and provide dates and information as it becomes available.
