For years Hocus Pocus has been putting a delightful spell on viewers as they watch the Sanderson Sisters return when the black flame candle is lit. The return of the Sanderson Sisters for a sequel has been eagerly anticipated. While it has been known that Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy will be returning to their roles as the Sanderson Sisters, there wasn’t much else known about who would be in the film.
On Halloween Day, a few more cast members were shared by Disney for Hocus Pocus 2. The new cast members announced are Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo, Doug Jones, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Hannah Waddingham, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Henderson, and Nina Kitchen. Fans of the original film will recognize that Doug Jones portrayed Billy Butcherson, the zombie former boyfriend of Winifred Sanderson. It can be surmised that he will be returning to that role. What the other new cast members are doing is completely unknown at this point.
Hocus Pocus 2 is being directed by Anne Fletcher, who directed 27 Dresses and Dumplin’. It will be arriving on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
