Dapper Dans are Returning to Disneyland

The Dapper Dans are set to return to Disneyland. This barbershop quartet will be back at Disneyland starting on September 3 for the beginning of the Disneyland Resort’s Halloween festivities.

In an interview with the OC Register, Disney Live Entertainment music producer John Graudini, shared “It’s very exciting.” He continued saying, “They’re great. They’re masters of this music. It’s great to come back and hear it’s just as vibrant.”

They will be returning with some classic favorites and also something a bit more jazzier than traditional for the group. “We’re working on something a little extra,” Glaudini said. “A little gift, especially to those who know the band’s repertoire. We want to implement it. There’s nothing big, but something new.”

The Dapper Dans have been a staple on Main Street, USA since 1959. That summer four young men were recruited from  Fred Waring and Pennsylvania by Disneyland’s first casting director, Chuck Corson. They have been a fan favorite right from the start and iterations of the group have been replicated around the globe.

For their performances in September, the Dapper Dans will be singing at a distance from each other and also from guests as part of the health and safety protocols in place due to COVID-19. Currently, all 12 of the performers that make up the group are in rehearsals after not performing together for over a year.

The Dapper Dans will join other entertainment groups that have been returning to the Disneyland Resort. This includes the Disneyland Band, Ragtime Piano Player at Coke Corner, Pearly Band, Five & Dime, and the Bootstrappers.
