Today Disney has released a new poster for its upcoming animated film Encanto. It comes with the promise of a new trailer tomorrow.
Encanto is being directed by both Byron Howard and Jared Bush. Together, they directed Zootopia. They are joined by Charise Castro Smith who is co-directing and co-writing the film. It features original songs by Lin-Manuel Mirando, who wrote the songs for Moana. He is also working on the upcoming live-action version of The Littler Mermaid where he is helping compose new songs for the film.
The story of Encanto revolves around the Madrigal family in the mountains of Columbia. They all have magical powers that have been given to them as children… except for one girl named Maribel. However, when she discovers that the magic surrounding Encanto is in danger, she decides that she, the only one without magical powers, might be her family’s last hope.
