Disney’s Contemporary Resort is currently in the midst of being refurbished ahead of Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th-Anniversary celebration. This incredible hotel, with a monorail that glides through the middle of it, is getting even more incredible. The rooms are being reimagined in a way that is inspired by Disney and Pixar’s The Incredibles. These new rooms have a retro-modern aesthetic that also evoke Tomorrowland.
At this time, all nine floors of Disney’s Contemporary Resort are being refurbished. The decor in the rooms is meant to blend with the sleek Monorail motif and also include characters from Pixar’s two Incredibles films. Guests may find Jack-Jack, Frozone, and Edna Mode along with new custom artwork in their rooms and in the hallways. This will all be modern, futuristic, and stylish. Disney’s goal is to complement the resort’s current architecture and also connect it with the Supers.
Down in the lobby, there will soon be a collection of modern art pieces to be enjoyed. They will be joined by some historical photographs that give a look behind the scenes of Disney’s Contemporary Resort both in development and then under construction. The Wave… of American Flavors, the restaurant found in the lobby, will soon be closing and a reimagined dining experience will replace it. This will be done in time for the beginning of Walt Disney World’s 50th-Anniversary celebration. Once the tower rooms are completed at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, work will begin on the Garden Wing rooms along the shore of Bay Lake.
