“After 18 months of being apart we are thrilled to welcome our audiences back and are proud to introduce these unique benefits to make buying Broadway tickets risk-free, flexible and affordable,” said Thomas Schumacher President & Producer Disney Theatrical Productions. “Broadway’s reopening – before tourists fully return – will be the perfect time for us tri-staters to attend Broadway as shows will be more accessible than ever.”
The announcement for the return of Broadway on September 14th with Hamilton, The Lion King and Wicked on Good Morning America showed the solidarity and commitment Broadway has to make a strong return for the industry.
Bringing people back into theaters on Broadway will also be done following New York State and CDC health and safety guidelines. This will ensure the safety of performers, production staff, theatre employees, and those in attendance. Both the New Amsterdam and Minskoff Theatres are committed to following these guidelines and adapting as needed. This will include following guidelines like face coverings, health screenings, enhanced air filtration and ventilation, and rigorous cleaning/disinfection. More details about the safety protocols for The Minskoff Theatre can be found at lionking.guide. More details about the safety protocols for The New Amsterdam Theatre can be found at aladdin.guide.
Along with reopening on Broadway, Norther American tours of The Lion King, Frozen, and other international productions of five other titles will be part of the 20+ Disney Theatrical productions that will be resuming performances in 2021. These performances will be happening in nine different countries and four continents later this year.
