Tokyo Disney Resort Reopens as Fans Pour into Parks

Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea are once again open. Guests streamed into the parks wearing masks and practicing being socially distant on the morning of July 1st. This is the first time guests were in the parks since February 28th. They were closed due to the impacts of COVID-19. The parks reopened with safety protocols in place that included social distancing, face masks, cleaning protocols, and limited capacity. None of these seemed to dampen the spirits of those who were there for the reopening, however!

Tokyo Disney Resort began the day with a video released on social media of the time leading up to the reopening and welcoming guests back.

As guests arrived, signage gave directions for the safety protocols for entering the parks.

Guests waited in queues to enter while staying socially distanced as well.

As guests came into the parks, Cast Members welcomed them while wearing face coverings. Some carried signs reminding guests of the safety protocols.

It was a joyous occasion for both Cast Members and guests alike as Disney magic was once again experienced at the Tokyo Disney Resort’s two parks.

Over at Tokyo DisneySea, the atmosphere was equally festive.

The next Disney theme parks that are scheduled to be reopening are at Walt Disney World Resort. On July 11th Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom are scheduled to reopen. On July 15th EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are supposed to reopen as well. At this time, the reopening of the two parks at the Disneyland Resort do not have a date.
