Since the Disney+ streaming service launched November 12, the giant has passed more than 50 million paid subscribers. This week, fans have noticed that Disney has removed the button from the seven-day free trial on their website log-in, which may be linked to the success they have seen this year. It could also be in anticipation of the release of Hamilton on the streaming service on July 3.
This change also comes before Disney adds some major titles to their major library next month. On July 3, the Disney+ streaming service will be adding the original Broadway cast recording of Hamilton: An American Musical. This recording was originally set to hit movie theaters in October 2021 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Disney wanted to put a little more magic into fan’s homes.
If you do wish to sign up for the service at this time, you will be directed to a page that asks you to input payment information. Previously, this was where you could redeem an offer for a seven-day free trial. There is also a button on the home page that informs fans of the option to bundle Hulu, ESPN+, and the Disney+ streaming service. Though the free trial seems to have ended, the service has yet to raise their prices from the initial $6.99/month or $69.99/year.
