Disney and Pinewood Studios have struck a long-term deal about the future use of the Buckinghamshire studio in the United Kingdom. The announcement comes from a release on Pinewood Studios’ website. Under the deal, Disney will be using all stages, backlots, and other productions accommodations at the historic studio.
According to Deadline, the deal should be for ten years. Pinewood Studios is no stranger to The Walt Disney Company. Many popular Disney films have come from the studio. This includes Mary Poppins Returns, Star Wars films, and Marvel films as well. Outside of Disney, the studio has also housed James Bond films, Alien 3, and even Tim Burton’s Batman.
Paul Golding, Chairman of Pinewood Group said, “It’s wonderful to have Disney here at Pinewood. They’ve been making great films with us for many years and the fact they want to shoot so many more here is testimony not only to the quality of the teams and infrastructure at Pinewood, but also to the British film industry as a whole.”
