TSA Reviews Policy on Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Coca-Cola “Thermal Detonator” Bottles

Last week, fans getting ready to travel to Batuu asked the Transportation Security Administration about the new “thermal detonator” coke bottles. For many guests, this has been a souvenir to remember their travels off-planet. When TSA originally responded on Twitter, they said that replica explosives could not be packed in any bags, even if it did not contain liquid. The agency noted that while the confusion for a weapon would be reasonable, they would continue to review the issue.

Today, the agency announced that their review has been completed and guests would be able to bring these bottles home on an airplane with them. If you want to keep the liquid inside, please note that you will have to pack it in a checked bag as it is considered an oversized liquid. If for any reason, a TSA agent performing the inspection believes there could be a security threat, they will act accordingly.

We are thrilled for all of our friends making the journey to Batuu! Though we are local to the Disneyland Resort, we have kept both our Coca-Cola and Dasani bottles as keepsakes of our time in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Funny enough, as I write this, I have a bottle just to my left, within arms reach. I am glad that guests who have to pass through airport security will be able to keep the same memories and have their (fairly) inexpensive souvenir!
