Facebook to Stream Netflix and Disney?

Facebook has reportedly reached out to Netflix and the Walt Disney Company about putting their streaming services on a new Facebook device. The Facebook device is for making video calls from televisions Reuters is reporting this week. Facebook has also reached out to other streaming providers as well. Facebook has reportedly reached out to other companies like HBO, Amazon, and Hulu (also owned by Disney) as well.

The service, code named Catalina is set to be released sometime this fall. It will use the same video-calling technology that as Facebook’s streaming device Portal. It will also come with a physical remote along with streaming services like other television boxes like Apple TV or Amazon Fire TV.

Reuters reached out to all the companies involved for comment but did not respond to the request for comment immediately.
