Coco coming to Epcot with Mariachi Cobre

The Story of ‘Coco’ is Coming to Epcot This Spring Courtesy of the Mariachi Cobre

Epcot’s World Showcase is a wonderful place to celebrate cultures and the stories that bring them to life. This week it was announced that the Mexico Pavilion will soon be adding its own celebration of Disney•Pixar’s “Coco”!

Starting March 6, you can head to the Mexico Pavillion to find another set of stories to be told. Mariachi Cobre will set the scene with the vibrant and lively mariachi music and will be joined by Folklórico dancers. These performers will come together to tell the story of Miguel Rivera, a boy whose family hated music. When he travels to the land of the dead, he finds the key to bringing his family back together! Miguel will even make a grand appearance in Epcot, in the form of a hand-crafted puppet!

We hope to see a show similar to “A Musical Celebration of Coco” from Disney California Adventure Park. This short show has made its home in Disney California Adventure Park during the Fall season. It resides in the courtyard to the Plaza de la Familia, an area focused on the culture of Día de Muertos. When the Mariachi Divas join with dancers and Miguel, the story of “Coco” comes to life before your eyes! It has become a guest favorite the last few years and we hope to see something similar come out of Epcot with Mariachi Cobre! Check out the full video of Disney California Adventure Park’s show below!

Outside of the show, you can still catch Mariachi Cobre playing their daily sets in the Mexico Pavillion! Be sure to plan your visit to Epcot this spring to celebrate the Flower and Garden Festival!
