There is Disney Magic in These Practical Effects Found in Mary Poppins Returns!

There is a lot of magic to be found in Mary Poppins Returns. What many people didn’t realize when watching this new Disney film though was how much of that magic came through the use of practical effects. Of course, there was CGI utilized throughout the course of the movie. However, there was also quite a lot of practical effects and sets!

Over the weekend, several of these effects began surfaces on the internet. They came from clips taken from a “For Your Consideration” video for the movie as the industry gears up for the Academy Awards. In it, the magic of the movies can be seen. From seeing Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins slide backward into a bathtub to the recreation of Cherry Tree Lane! Take a look at these clips and see the magic that Disney recreated 54 years after the original Mary Poppins.
