As the night wore on, the fireworks at Disneyland did indeed get canceled. However, a countdown to midnight both for the East Coast and then again the West Coast were celebrated. DJs, characters, bands, and thousands of people enjoying the night. At Disneyland, this was done in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Rivers of America, and near it’s a small world where countdown celebrations brought magic into the night. In Disney California Adventure there were countdown celebrations in Paradise Gardens Park and Hollywood Land. The Downtown Disney District also celebrated with Suburban Legends and the Kirk Wilson Trio. Guests at Flambeaux’s Jazz Club at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen were treated to the Doug Lacy Band.
At Disneyland, the countdown at midnight culminated with music and a very packed park as everyone celebrated the big moment. In Disney California Adventure, the place to be was in Paradise Park. Phat Cat Swinger and DJ Wendy helped guests dance the night away. At midnight after the countdown, a musical presentation ushered people into the new year. With pop hits, projections, fire effects, and some fireworks, the crowd enjoyed ushering in 2019 at Disney California Adventure.
The Disneyland Resort is one of the best places to celebrate New Year’s Eve. It’s always festive with lots of different ways to celebrate the holiday. It is always packed with people ready to ring in the new year, which can be a plus or a minus. What makes it best though is the Disney magic that is coupled with kicking off a new year. The combination is really something everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime!
