Sunday Spotlight: Rosita

For years guests visiting Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room have heard the question asked, “where’s Rosita?” Now, thanks to The Tropical Hideaway at Disneyland, there is an answer to that. Rosita is now hanging out next to The Tropical Hideaway next to The Jungle Cruise. Throughout the day, she jabbers away with those who stop by. Sharing jokes and witticisms, she entertains guests throughout the day. Rosita is just one of many fun additions to an area that has had multiple uses through the years. Watch Rosita here as she spoke with the DAPS MAGIC team last weekend.

In 1962 the area opened as the Tahitian Terrace. For over three decades the location offered both Polynesian food and entertainment to guests. Then in 1993, Aladdin’s Oasis replaced the venue. It showcased a dinner show but it only lasted for two seasons. By 1997, the venue became a storytelling venue. For most of this run, the story that was told was Aladdin. Character meet and greets also took place in the location. In 2008, the location hosted Indiana Jones and the Secret of the Stone Tiger, a storytelling experience that utilized the massive stone tiger. In recent years the location has been primarily a character location and also a distribution for boxed meals for dining plans for Fantasmic!, fireworks, or parades. Since December 2018, it has become the home of Rosita and offers Polynesian inspired foods to the guests who visit.
