Illuminations will be ending its twenty-year run at the end of the summer in 2019. While this will be the end of one nighttime show, a new one is being worked on. The Disney Parks Live Entertainment team is working hard on the show that will replace Illuminations shortly after it ends its run.

The World Showcase Lagoon first showcased IllumiNations in October of 1999. This was a part of the Walt Disney World Millennium Celebration. For nearly 20 years, it has continued sharing the light and a story every night to now millions of guests. In 2019, a new nighttime spectacular will replace it.

Epcot is in the midst of a multi-year transformation that will offer guests new magical experiences while also keeping true to the original vision of the park. Already a new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction and a Ratatouille attraction have been announced for the park. A new space-themed restaurant is also being created near Mission: Space.
