Disneyland President Michael Colglazier will be taking a new role within the Walt Disney Company. Colglazier is being promoted to the Managing Director Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Asia Pacific Asia Pacific. Over the last five years, Colglazier has led the Disneyland Resort as its president. There he led 30,000 cast members and oversaw what is viewed as a successful 60th anniversary Diamond Celebration. He also led the resort to record business performance and growth.<
“It has been an incredible privilege to lead Walt Disney’s original park for the past five years and to drive his legacy of innovation, quality and storytelling alongside my fellow cast members,” Colglazier said. “Being part of the Disneyland Resort community has been a wonderful source of joy for me and my family. I am tremendously excited to join our teams in Asia, where our growth opportunities are diverse and endless.”
Michael Colglazier’s new role will have the 28-year Disney veteran being responsible for overseeing Disney’s parks and resorts in Asia. This will include both operations and development and include Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Tokyo Disneyland Resort along with the Oriental Land Company and Shanghai Disney Resort.
Since moving to California from Walt Disney World, Colglazier has been an active contributor to the community. He has served as the University of California, Irvine’s Chief Executive Roundtable and as a director on the board of Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
