As Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has its fourth season come to a close, it is time to celebrate the announcement that the fifth season coming! What better way to do this than with food? Thankfully our friends at Geeks Who Eat have a recipe that is perfect for the end of this whirlwind of a season!

The two Geeks Who Eat created a recipe inspired by Hydra. Their first inclination was to go with a german-themed recipe. Being creative, they didn’t just stop there. They instead took schnitzel and went with sliders. Generally this is something that is served with lemon and capers, hence their aioli.

Geek Eats: Hydra Schnitzel Sliders with Lemon Caper Aioli Recipe

Serving Size: 1 slider

Geek Eats: Hydra Schnitzel Sliders with Lemon Caper Aioli Recipe

Ingredients

For Schnitzel

  • 1 lb. Thin Cut Pork Chops; cut into 8 pieces
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 1/2 cup Regular Bread Crumbs
  • Vegetable oil to fry (amount will depend on what vessel you fry the pork in)
  • 8 Slider Buns

For Lemon Caper Aioli

  • 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp Mayo
  • 2 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 tsp Capers; minced
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Combine aioli ingredients and refrigerate for at least an hour (if you have time to make it the day before it will be even better).
  2. Line a plate with paper towel and set aside.
  3. Heat oil.
  4. Meanwhile, dredge the pork in the following order: flour, egg, bread crumbs.
  5. Once oil is ready, fry pork for 2 minutes on each side. Don’t crowd the pan.
  6. Once cooked, place pork on paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. While pork cools and rests, prepare each bun with aioli.
  8. Place one piece of schnitzel on each bun.
  9. Serve.
