It is an exciting time to be a fan of Indiana Jones, or anything Lucasfilm related really. The most recent hype has been that Indiana Jones will be returning for a fifth outing. Even more exciting, Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg will be collaborating on it. The newest bit of information to come out builds has David Koepp returning to write Indiana Jones 5.
David Koepp collaborated with Steven Spielberg as a cowriter for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Koepp has also worked on movies like Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Mission Impossible, Spider-Man (2002) and War of the Worlds. Some of these movies have been massive hits and others, not so much.
Koepp’s choice to work on Indiana Jones 5 will surely be controversial among fans. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was met with mixed reviews by fans. This could be a chance for redemption for the entire team after the last movie.
It isn’t currently known if Koepp is working on an existing story or if he is part of the process from the ground up. Another person who’s involvement isn’t known at this point is George Lucas. In the past Lucas has played a large role in helping create the Indiana Jones stories. While he has no official capacity to be doing so from the Lucasfilm perspective, it is possible that longtime friend Spielberg will enlist his help.
It will be interesting to see where this adventure will take Indiana Jones when it is released on July 19, 2019. Do you have any predictions?
