Third ‘Tron’ no Longer in the Works

Over the weekend, there was some heartbreaking news released on the third Tron film installment. According to Entertainment Weekly, the third film’s production has stopped. The film will not move forward.

Over the past few months, sources has provided names of cast, locations for shooting and a proposed name for the film. Even Joseph Kosinski was set to direct the film.

According to The Wrap, the film’s cancellation may have to do with “Tomorrowland underperforming at the box office last weekend.” Tomorrowland was filmed on a $180 million budget and has only grossed $42.7 million.

Disney is still set for a long line of live action films in the next few years, so have no fear on that aspect.

What are your thoughts about the cancellation of a third Tron film?
