Cast of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD Continues to Grow

Agents of SHIELD & Agent Carter Coming to ABC this fall!As the second season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. draws near, there has been quite a flurry of additions to the cast. Before getting into new cast however, it should be noticed that the principle cast from season one will be returning. This fall will see the return of Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent May, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Simmons, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Fitz, Brett Dalton as Agent Ward, and Chloe Bennett as Skye.

In addition to the original principle cast, there will be several new additions to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. this fall. Here is a brief look at who will be joining the cast:

  • Henry Simmons – Appearing as Alphonso “Mack” Mackenzie, Simmons will portray the mechanic that first appeared in NICK FURY VS. S.H.I.E.L.D. #3. He will be working with Coulson and team.
  • Lucy Lawless – The former Xena: Warrior Princess will be joining the cast as  Isabelle Hartley. A long time S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, she has history with Coulson. Just what that history is… we’ll find out soon I’m sure!
  • Simon Kassianides – All that is known is he will be playing Bakshi who is a “confident right-hand man who’s not afraid to do the dirty work.” The dirty work for good or for bad is unknown at this time.
  • Nick Blood –  This British actor will portray Lance Hunter, who in Marvel history once was the director of S.T.R.I.K.E. (think British S.H.I.E.L.D.). However, he has been described as mercenary who helps out Coulson and his team so maybe things are different.
  • Reed Diamond – Expect to see this guy foiling Coulson regularly as Hydra agent Daniel Whitehall, also known as Kraken.
  • Kyle MacLachlan – Meet Skye’s father. Not a lot is known about MacLachlan’s character at this point but it can be guessed that we will be learning more about Skye’s history.
  • Patton Oswald – Billy Koenig and Sam Koenig will be appearing in Season 2 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as we get confirmation perhaps of life model decoys in the Marvel Universe.

“As director, [Coulson wilil] be faced with some tough decisions, harder decisions than he had to make as an agent … We’ll see the emotional consequences of that and we’ll see the shifts in dynamics between the characters because of that.” – Executive Producer Maurissa Tancharoen on Season Two of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Production is underway for season two of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Geeks Corner will continue to cover and review this show as more information becomes available. Are you excited?
