On this day in 1988, the animated feature ‘Oliver & Company’ was released in U.S. theaters. The story was inspired by Charles Dickens’ novel ‘Oliver Twist’, with the setting changed to a modern New York City. Oliver is a homeless kitten who joins in with a gang of dogs who use desperate methods to survive on the streets. This feature was Disney’s last to utilize the multiplane camera and the first to use CGI more extensively. It is now remembered as a cult classic!
