On this day in 2003, ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter had its last operating day at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. It had gained a cult following among fans during the 8 years it was open. Alien Encounter was a sci-fi theater-in-the-round attraction that used binaural sound and special seats to achieve many of its effects.
